Fun places to bike ride in Glenwood Springs

Here are three popular bike rides in Glenwood Springs.

The Glenwood Canyon Bike Path

This is a great ride and a wonderful adventure for the whole family. The entire ride takes you through Glenwood Canyon and along the Colorado River on a paved walking and bike path that winds through the canyon. There are plenty of beautiful spots to stop and eat, rest, and watch the rafters and kayakers get some whitewater action on The Colorado River. The 30-mile ride winds through the spectacular beauty of White River National Forest and takes anywhere from 2 to 3.5 hours. The elevation climb is minimal.

The Boy Scout Trail in Glenwood Springs

A good long mountain bike ride on a variety of surfaces that features one hair-raising single-track descent that is not for the faint-of-heart but the ride provides great views to Glenwood Springs and Glenwood Canyon. Expect 5.6 miles on paved roads; 7.6 miles on dirt roads, and 6.3 miles on single-track. The total road is 19.5 total miles with a loop trail. The whole ride takes anywhere from 2 to 4 hours. Trailhead Elevation: 6,000 feet. Top Elevation: 7,700 feet.

Red Mountain Trail in Glenwood Springs

This is an awesome hill climb that follows an old ski-area service road that is all on dirt road. This seven-mile ride is considered easy to moderate in skill level and takes an hour or two.
