Going Green in Glenwood Springs

Saving the environment one unused towel at a time…

Since December of 2009, the staff at Hotel Denver has been involved with a program called "Going Green in Glenwood Springs".  This program has been a tremendous success, not just for the hotel, but for the guests as well.

Any guest that stays more than one night is asked if they would like to decline daily housekeeping services and in exchange, the hotel gives the guest a voucher good for $5.00 at the Glenwood Canyon Brewing Company.  $5.00 just for making their own bed or reusing their towels.

The effects have been fantastic.  The guests feel like they are saving the environmnet by reducing and reusing, and contributing to the well being of our resources.  Plus utility costs are reduced, there is less water waste and the towels and sheets last considerably longer by not being washed as frequently.

The Hotel Denver guest comments are very favorable.  Many of the corporate travelers that stay at Hotel Denver have commented that they have made suggestions to the management of other hotels they stay at to follow in Hotel Denver’s footsteps to help save the planet.
